Hi Everyone
I am new to this website and wondered if anyone can help.
I have been suffering with AT for the past 4 years and have been wearing freedom pieces. I sent one of my freedom pieces in over 6 months ago to be repaired and have been informed that mine is in the next batch to be repaired. I have also been told that owing to the extensive damage it may"die during the repair process"!
I have only worn the freedom piece for 12 months and yes there was a bald spot at the front and hair loss at the back but that is why I opted for the freedom piece so that it could be repaired.
Just wondered if anyone else has had a freedom piece that couldn't be repaired.
Many thanks
Bonnie P

Hi Bonnie

Freedom Wigs was one of the wigs I was going to look at . Frantic my hair is falling out rapidly and I dont know to what stage it will go . Do you have any tips on different Wigs so I am at least prepared . I have a hairpiece but only looks good if i can pull my hair out the front.
How do you wear a wig and tie your hair in a pony tail.

Would appreciate any help.

Denise

Hi Denise

I hope you're okay - it's a horrible and scary time and you're not alone. It depends how much hair you have left. Unfortunately I have lost all of my hair including all arm hair and eyebrow hair so opting for the freedom was a good for me as in order to wear a freedom wig you need to have no scalp hair what so ever. If you have some hair left you may want to opt for a human/synthetic wig as a temporary solution. If you have a lot of hair left you could opt for a topper that attaches to the rest of your hair. There are many options and solutions is just about finding the right one for you. The freedom hair piece is great but the amount of time it takes to get it in your hands is rather long so I'm going to look into other options as well.
What I have found throughout this whole process is find someone who you can rely on and will be there for you. I have many awful experiences throughout this process and now think I have found someone trully incredible and really cares about "ME" as a person and not a walking cheque book!
Not sure if I can recommend people on here but I will see if there is a way to PM you.
My advice would be to book an appointment with this person and try on lots of different options until you find one that works for you.
Take care
Bonnie

Hi Sorry for the late reply - my advise would be to book an appointment with a reputuable wig specialist near you and they will be able to advise as at this stage you could get away with a topper.

Hi
I wear freedom and for me it is a lifesaver. I have not Seen anything like it to buy elsewhere.
Mine went away for repair and it came back as good as new. It did take a few months but was worth the wait. I had mine for 3 yrs before it had to go away for repair.
I think you maybe have to have a look at your hair habits e.g.: do you really run your fingers through at a particular spot. Or too rough when brushing it.
